Deep Waters Challenge blog hop Reveal

Today is the reveal for Andrew Thorton's Deep Waters Challenge.  Each of the challenge participants purchased a bead kit from Andrew that had lots and lots of beads and even a mystery surprise in it.

Here is a look at the beads that Andrew included in the kit.

Lots and lots of seed beads

Two different sets of sparkly rondells, some linen cording, a tube of cylinder seed beads, a pair of ammonite shell beads and some discs.

The mystery component that Andrew made - a lovely seahorse pendant.

Even though we were given an extra week to make our projects, I have one project completed and one half done.  I made a necklace pendant with some of the seed beads and attached it to some ribbon.

The next piece will be a three strand necklace basically as below

with the mystery component as the pendant.

I intend to make matching earring for each of the necklaces.  This still leaves me with lots of beads, so I will be making some additional projects with the beads and will let you know when they are completed.

Be sure to come back on Saturday, May 10th,  to see what I made with my Bead Soup.

Thanks for stopping by.

  2. Very pretty! That ribbon necklace so unique...I haven't seen anything like it before. I think the seahorse will be beautiful when it's finished. See you Saturday for some serious Bead Soup Hopping :)

  3. I love the pendant you made with the seed beads! Definitely a technique I'll consider in the future (if that ok with you). Can't wait to see how you finish the other necklace. And I'll check back this weekend.
I can't believe it's time for BSBP - I really need to finish up those pieces. Too many commitments at the same time. :)

  6. I hopped around earlier, but didn't get a chance to leave a comment until now. Sorry! You did a great job! I think both the completed project and the one in the works are both fun and really cool designs! Good job! I love the cascading dangles in the first and how it is paired with that lovely ribbon. The second piece will be great! I think the layers compliment the focal so nicely. AND that frame around the pendant really sets it off. Awesome! Thanks so much for participating and joining in on the fun!
