Summer Waters Blog Hop/Challenge

Sorry for the delay in posting.

Today is the reveal date for Lisa Lodge's latest blog hop/Facebook challenge Summer Waters.  I purchased a kit from Lisa and created several different items.  But to start off, here is a picture of the kit that I received from Lisa:

Lovely white pearls, a silver clasp, multiple cultured sea glass pieces, light aqua barrel shaped beads, dark blue square spacers, a pair of dark blue wings, aqua star fish, aqua rondells, and spacers.

Here is the first piece that I made using the aqua cultured sea glass, 4mm white pearls, and large hole silver spacers that slide slightly over the pearls.

The next item that I made used the dark blue wings.  The wings have little indentation on the curved edges so they look like feathers.

Next up was a necklace using the dark blue square spacers, 6mm white pearls from my stash and some red matte seed beads from another kit of Lisa's.

Next were earrings to go with the red, white, and blue necklace.  In fact, I think I went a little overboard.  I made four pairs using all the left over blue spacers.

Sorry about the pictures.  I am not able to access the pictures I took with my phone.  I was playing around with my camera and these are not the greatest.

Fortunately I took some individual pictures so here are some close-ups.

Last but not intended to be the least of what I tried to make.  I need some help here.  What is the best way to make these starfish into earrings?  Premade jump rings don't seem to work.  I am open to suggestions.

Ocean Blog Hop reveal

Today is the reveal of the Ocean Blog Hop spondored by Lisa Lodge of A Grateful Artist - Pine Tree Treasures blog.  She prepared kits of beads for each of the participants and I was fortunate enough to get a kit that was in my favorite color of gold, gold pearls, gold cultured sea glass, clear cultured sea glass, and gold cathedral beads.  Love them.

Pearls (fresh-water, I think), gold twisted beads, gold glass pearls, gold cathedral beads.

Gold and clear cultured sea glass, brass starfish and toggle clasp.

Unfortunately, I did a good/bad thing.  In order to not lose the beads, I put them in a safe place as I received them back in December and was not ready to work on the projects.  The blog hop kinda of slipped my mind and other challenges came to the front.  When it was getting close to time for the reveal, I was scrambling to find my "safely put away" beads.  I searched for two weeks and finally found them last week.

I was able to get three pieces partially constructed and hope to finish them tomorrow and post the finished pieces on Monday evening, so be sure to come back and see the finished pieces.

I used one size of the glass pearls and the twisted beads in the outer strand and another size of glass pearls and the cathedral beads for the inner strand.

I used the cultured sea glass to create the necklace below.  I added some brass jump rings as spacers.

I used left over cultured sea glass for earrings along with the brass starfish.
