Operation Tackle That Bead Stash March Challenge

Here is what I created for the Operation Tackle That Bead Stash March Challenge.

I used beads from my stash, bluey-lavender, pink, and grey twisted beads with silver seed beads and purple glass leaves.

What do you think?

Working on....

Am working on the March Operation Tackle That Bead Stash challenge.  You are to make something (for me it's jewelry) with a minimum of three pastel colors.  One entry per person (you can make as many items as you want and submit them but only one of them counts for the challenge) goes into a drawing and for an extra chance you can add the twist which this month is to add leaves.

Now why couldn't this have been the challenge for February so I could have used my
Challenge of Music set.

Pastel colors and leaves.  It fits the bill but one of the requirements for the challenge is that the item can not be made before March 1, 2013.  Oh, well, it just gives me an excuse to create something else.

This time around I have to make some choices.

Lilac and grey with pops of pink in the front? with mid-lavender leaves

Lilac, grey, pink, grey? with mid-lavender leaves

Lilac and grey with mid-lavender leaves?

Which one should I make?  Although there are white beads in the pictures, I decided against using them as they over-powered the pastel colors.  The leaves are a matt mid-lavender.

Let me know your thoughts and I will reveal the chosen color scheme next week when I finish.

Pictures of the entries have to be submitted by 6pm (GMT) March 31.  I think that is 10am that morning for me here in the Northwest.

Anyone is welcome to join in the challenge.  Follow the link at the beginning of the blog.

I think I am back with a bang

I have completed and submitted a picture for the January Challenge with Operation Tackle That Bead Stash.

I have the February Challenge necklace and earrings done, the picture just have to be emailed to the hostess.

I entered a bracelet in Shipwreck Beads bracelet contest.

I have also entered the Bead Soup Blog Hop but don't know which reveal I will have.

I have also entered the Challenge of Music Blog Hop.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please come again.  Will have some information on my Bead Soup Blog Hop partner.

Return to blogging

I have been missing in action the last week or so as I have been to see my daughter and her family in Indiana.  It was relaxing and hard to return home without them.  Have been trying to catch up reading the blogs that I follow.

Have some new beads to play with as it was my birthday this month and my friend, Evelyn, gave me three sets of beads to challenge me.  Have one set almost done.  It will actually be my March challenge piece for Operation Tackle That Bead Stash.  I hope to have it done and pictures taken by tomorrow or Wednesday.

The other two sets will have to wait until next week to be worked on.

Thanks for stopping by.

Here is a picture of my January Challenge entry at Operation Tackle That Bead Stash.  We were to create something beaded using just white and black beads.  Findings did not count as a color.  If you used/made a square of any type you earned bonus points.

Here is a link to all the entries and there were over 37 of them: http://tacklethatbeadstash.blogspot.com/2012/01/january-challenge-and-winner-is.html  I just love the first entry from Janice, the white rose set.  About half way down the page are two sets made by my friend Ev.  At times our styles are very similar and other times she is more adventurous then me.  My entry is second from the end.  (I just copied the picture that I sent them.)  Let me know what you think.

January Challenge

This is going to be another post without pictures.  I wasn't able to download the picture I wanted even after three tries of several hours each.  I guess I am going to have to try blogging from my email via the cellphone as soon as I figure that out.  I will have more time later in the week.

I managed to finish my January challenge for Operation Tackle That Bead Stash.  The challenge was to only use white and black beads only.  Findings did not count for color.  If you used/made squares in your piece you got an extra chance at the drawing for free beads.  I'll put a link to my necklace when it is pictured on the blog.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sunset at the Beach

Sunset at theBeach

Finally got a picture downloaded.  Not sure what I did but am glad to have one to talk about.  This set was one that I did for a challenge on the Operation Tackle That Bead Stash! facebook page.  Wasn't able to get a picture done in time to send it in.

The pendant and Mother-of-Pearl beads are from Michael's, orange and white stripe beads are from a mix that I got at JoAnn's, and the orange beads and silver spacers are from Shipwreck Beads.  It has an adjustable three ring toggle clasp.  Earrings are just simple drop earrings.

What do you think?  Would you like to see more than one picture of each set that I make?  I usually do a full length shot like at the left, a close-up of the focal, a close-up of the earrings, and a picture of the clasp.

Thanks for stopping by.
