La Bella Joya: The Mini-Charm Challenge

Marcie Abney of La Bella Joya blog is hosting a mini-charm challenge.  She has a mini-charm pattern in the April/May issue of Beadwork.  Create your own version of the charm using it however you want, earrings, necklace, bracelet, etc.  Take a picture and email it to Marcie.  She will hold a random drawing on April 6th and the winner will receive a free tutorial of your choice from her shop.  (She has some gorgeous ones.)

Suddenly Spring Challenge

Michelle Mach is sponsoring a Spring Challenge.  (Here is a link to her original post Suddenly-Spring-Challenge)  If you were lucky enough to get one of her pre-made bracelets, you were to use it to make something springy.  I wanted to keep it as a bracelet as it actually fit my wrist (which is smaller than most).  So I added some ladybug charms in spring colors, gold butterflies, and some gold leaves.  It was challenging to get the charms on.  I used two different sized jump rings, a large one to go on the elastic itself and a smaller one to hang the chanrm.  I mixed gold and silver as I wanted to keep this and I prefer gold.

I think I met the challenge.  I am pleased with the bracelet.  Please let me know what you think.

Return to blogging

I have been missing in action the last week or so as I have been to see my daughter and her family in Indiana.  It was relaxing and hard to return home without them.  Have been trying to catch up reading the blogs that I follow.

Have some new beads to play with as it was my birthday this month and my friend, Evelyn, gave me three sets of beads to challenge me.  Have one set almost done.  It will actually be my March challenge piece for Operation Tackle That Bead Stash.  I hope to have it done and pictures taken by tomorrow or Wednesday.

The other two sets will have to wait until next week to be worked on.

Valentine's Day necklace

My Beading Happily Ever After Valentine's challenge necklace is on their blog.  Here is a link:  http://beadhappilyeverafter.com/blog/  I am about half way done the page.

Really pleased with it as it is out of comfort zone.

What do you think?   Usually I am just a stinger but the hearts have some black in them and I thought of the black chain that I had.  Made matching earring from the small red and black hearts.

Many Beading Challenges

Sorry I have not posted anything this week.  It was one of those hectic weeks.

Completed two different necklace and earring sets for two different Valentine's Day challenges.  Will post those on Tuesday when they will appear on the sponsor's websites.  Really excited about the designs as they both are a little out of my comfort zone.

I was also able to get in on Michelle Mach's Suddenly Spring Challenge.  Love the bracelet and it fits!!!  My wrist is so small that most bracelets fall right off.  Will have to take a picture and post it.  The challenge for this is to make it represent spring.  I can take it apart or add to it.  Not sure what I am going to do.  Be sure watch for the blog hop on March 13.

Just saw a challenge for 7000 Bracelets of Hope.  Missed this last year and certainly want to try it this year.  Will be signing up and letting everyone know when the blog hop is.

Thanks for stopping by.
